.Net/ Java Developer for Consulting

Responsibilities
We are looking for people with high levels of expertise to join our expanding Consultancy Team. Working in a dynamic and constantly changing environment will allow you to show your customer focused skills to ensure that the delivery is exactly what the customer requires.
You will be responsible for the delivery of first class implementations and the design of strategic and tactical solutions to ensure that our customers gain the maximum benefit from their investment in our services. You will be working on behalf of major Corporate companies who expect the highest level of service at all times.
The role will encompass the design, development and delivery of solutions based around the Business Objects product suite as well as the Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services product. Travel across Canada and the USA will be expected and therefore candidates must have either USA or Canadian citizenship.
Required skills
Ideally you will have a background of a minimum of 1-2 years experience of delivering high quality solutions to the Corporate and sector. Your approach to the process will be consultative with an emphasis on delivering specific solutions to meet the requirements of our customers. You will need a "can do" approach to every challenge, coupled with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Development experience with .NET, Java, JSP, Microsoft Visual Basic, Active Server Pages (ASP), Microsoft SQL Server
- Strong knowledge and experience of Crystal Decisions / Business Objects suite of products is a bonus
- Good presentation & interpersonal skills
- Knowledgeable in DBMS administration and design

Responsibilities
Our consultants are experts in all aspects of business intelligence systems, including:

Implementing all aspects of business intelligent products from leading vendors such as Microsoft (SQL Server Reporting Services) and Business Objects (BusinessObjects 6.x, BusinessObjects Enterprise, Crystal Enterprise, and Crystal Reports)

Designing and deploying system architecture for small-to-large-scale reporting

Developing web-based as well as fat client-side applications using .NET and Java

Developing reports, meta layers, and database stored procedure/views

Optimizing the performance of reports and reporting databases

Managing and performing upgrades and migrations

Perform analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of company based solutions

Assist in defining the scope of a project, or phase of a project, utilizing qualitative criteria, technical and business specifications

Lead teams in either a functional or technical capacity, adding value to the project and with the final deliverables on the assigned projects

Required skills
Bachelor or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science plus 3 years of experience would be a plus in the Software Consulting or Enterprise Application Implementation occupations. The required 3 years of experience should include:
- Writing SQL queries
- Database design using major Relational Database Management Systems (e.g. Oracle, SQL, Server or DB2)
- Datawarehousing/ETL (e.g. Data Integrator or Informatica)
- Working with Windows operating systems and different Unix flavors
- Working with web technologies (HTML or XML), application server environments (ASP, JSP, JAVA, or NET) and web servers (IIS or Apache)
- Must have the ability to work on very complex customer problems, and have great problem solving skills
- Good communication skills: written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good judgment and decision-making skills with a strong emphasis on customer service
- Knowledge of general testing procedures and methodologies
- Experience configuring, installing, and troubleshooting pc software, hardware, and multiple Operating systems (Windows/Unix)
